I supported the ½ cent sales tax for Blue Springs Parks because I believe that vibrant and well-maintained parks are crucial to the future of our city. Our residents deserve safe places for their family’s outdoor recreation, and quality parks positively impact economic development and home values in Blue Springs. These funds are helping us take care of approximately 40% of deferred maintenance to upgrade our parks.

I’m proud of the results we have realized so far and excited to see the improvements and upgrades that are still to come. Completed improvements include the tennis courts at Pink Hill Park and Blue Springs Park, the new splash pad at Burrus Old Mill Park, a new playground at Rotary Lake Park and Ward Park and trail improvements at Woods Chapel Park. A good portion of the sales tax comes from shoppers that don’t live in Blue Springs, and we appreciate them helping to support our park system.
